How much does home EV charger installation cost? +
It depends on how far the charger sits from your electrical panel, whether your panel has spare capacity, and the charger you choose. We come out, run the load calculation, and put the exact price in writing with a free onsite estimate, no guessing over the phone.
What is the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 charging? +
Level 1 plugs into a standard 120V outlet and adds only a few miles of range per hour. Level 2 runs on a dedicated 240V circuit and charges several times faster, which is why most homeowners in Rochester end up going Level 2 and waking up to a full battery.
Do I need a panel upgrade to add an EV charger? +
Not always. Many homes have enough spare capacity for a Level 2 charger. Older 100 amp panels and fuse boxes often do not. We run the load calculation before quoting so you know up front, and if you do need a service upgrade we handle that too.
